Email that feeds your pipeline, not a report

Opens and replies change who gets contacted next, instead of sitting in a dashboard.

Email is the channel where automation is easiest to build and easiest to get wrong. SMAAI writes the campaign, sends it through your own account, tracks what happens and feeds the result back into lead scoring — so opens and replies change who gets contacted next rather than sitting in a report.

Two delivery paths, automatic fallback

Every message is attempted first through a connected Gmail account, and falls back to your own SMTP server if that path is unavailable. Each message records which route actually delivered it, so when something goes wrong you can see whether it was one message, one route or the whole campaign.

Sending runs in the background. Starting a campaign returns immediately rather than holding a browser tab open, and a live progress endpoint reports how far through it is.

Credentials are applied per account for the duration of a send and restored afterwards, so one workspace's mail settings are never in scope while another's campaign runs.

Written for the recipient, not the list

The Master CMO decides the strategy — who the audience is, what the angle should be, how many emails the sequence needs and what tone fits — before a word is written. Content generation then works to that brief.

SMAAI can suggest campaigns from your existing lead data, and templates can be generated, saved and reused. Every campaign can be sent to yourself first as a test, which is the single most effective way to catch a broken merge field before two thousand people see it.

Tracking that feeds the CRM

Opens are tracked per recipient and per template, and both flow straight into the lead score: three or more opens adds twenty points, a reply adds twenty-five, and seventy is the hot-lead threshold. A prospect reading your email three times is visible as a scoring signal, not just a number in a dashboard.

Replies are matched back to the lead record, so the conversation and the contact stay in one place rather than living in an inbox nobody else can see.

Deliverability discipline

Cold email fails for boring reasons: sending too much too soon from a new domain, ignoring unsubscribes, and chasing people who already said no. SMAAI's outbound rules follow the same shape as its other channels — send within business hours, stop the sequence the moment someone replies, and treat an opt-out as permanent and checked at the sending layer rather than at the campaign layer.

Contacts marked do-not-contact are excluded from every future campaign automatically, including ones built later from a fresh import.

Templates that stay consistent

Templates can be generated by the AI, edited, saved and reused, with per-template statistics so you can see which one actually earns replies rather than guessing. Because the same brand rules that govern your social content apply here, the emails read like the rest of your marketing instead of like a different company wrote them.

Where it sits in the pipeline

Email is not a silo. The lead scraper finds and verifies the contact, the quality gate confirms the address is deliverable and the business is still trading, the CRM scores the lead, and email is one of four channels — alongside WhatsApp, LinkedIn and voice — that follow-up can choose from based on where that person is actually reachable.

Availability. Email campaigns are included from Starter and require your own Gmail connection or SMTP credentials. Automated multi-step cadences require Scale.
